Update - and prayers please

Hi All,

We went to see dr. van der Vyver today and he noticed that Caden has a hernia on his left lower abdomen (Just like his dad). Unfortunately they'll have to operate on him as soon as possible, but this will only be on Monday. The thought of them operating on this little boy sends chills down my spine, but he's so incredibly strong, so we'll just have to learn from him. Atleast dr. Vermaak wil be back from leave, so that put our minds to rest a little bit. Please pray that his hernia stays "safe" until then and doesn't rupture. We also decided to start bottle feeding baby because he wasn't getting enough milk breastfeeding. He's still only at 2.09kg, which isn't great. He'll still get breast milk, but now we can monitor how much he eats, and if necessary we can add some growth powder or what the sisters call "baby-steroids".

Oh well, we know everything is in God's hands, and I can't imagine that he has anything but great plans for this little miracle of ours, so we're keeping very positive. We can't do this without your support however, so please please continue to pray for this beautiful warrior.

I also just want to thank granny and grampy Paul for their HUGE donation and for Caden's savings account. We'll make sure Caden reaches his full potential with it!

Ouma Rina and Ohpaw Zak came to visit our little warrior today and Ohpaw Zak got to hold baba for the first time today, it brought tears to my eyes (both our eyes actually!). I can't wait for grampy, granny, uncle Brendz and the rest of our families can meet and hold him aswell. I think it still takes people's breath away how small he is. Small, but incredible!

Well, I'm off to go feed our warrior so that he can grow big and strong like his dad. This morning I laughed so much at Wes. I told him "Honey, we really are the feather-weights" and he replied "Yip, built for famine!"

Lots of Love
Elriza & Wes

Dearest Wes, Reezie and Caden,
Put your trust and faith in God. He has carried our precious angel in the palm of His loving hand all this time, He will not forsake you now. God knows how precious and how loved little Caden is and we know that He will be with you all through this time. Guys you have proved what wonderful parents you are and the Lord has seen this, He will give you all the strength you need to see this tiny setback through. We will of course continue to pray for all of you and especially for our precious little pie. Caden has brought so much joy to so many people in his short life already and as his Grampy says, "Caden is going to be a leader", and with the help of our Loving Lord he will lead us all in days to come.
We love you guys and cannot wait to see, hold and kiss our little warrior.
God bless you all and may He keep you all in His loving embrace.
Lots of love,
Grampy, granny, granny Grey and uncle Brenz.

Liewe Caden,
Toe jou hernia so uitbult kon ek jou ma se gedetermineerde uitdrukking en houding sien - nou moet ek my seun help en red! "Dit moet op en ingedruk word" en woerts warts druk sy haar vinger in jou hernia en druk alles terug wat moet terug! My oë wou uitpop om te sien hoe goed sy optree in nood. Caden, met sulke ouers kan jy veilig voel.
Jou Oupa? Wel, hy was nie eers so aangedaan toe hy jou ma vir die eerste keer vasgehou het nie - al sê hy wat!! Hy dink jy's die mooist baba ooit!
En ek? Jy plekkie in my hart groei al groter en dieper.
Dis baie lekker om te weet ons almal se geloof is in dieselfde Anker. Dankie aan God vir sy liefde en ondersteuning.
Baie liefdetjies,
Ouma

Trust in the thought that you have the best surgeon of all - Our Lord!!! He will be working through the doctors and making sure the operation is a success. Our mother Mary will be holding Caden safely in the palm of her hands and keeping him from all harm.... Rest in the fact that your little prince will recover very quickly and be home soon soon soon after the operation! You guys are such wonderful parents already and may God guide you and Wes in all your decisions... Give Caden a HUGE hug from us and tell him we still want our playdate very soon.... I can just imagine how proud Oupa Zak was yesterday - he has every reason to be with such a beautiful grandchild! Much love and God Bless, Conrad, Megan and our precious Keaton
