Hi All,
Just an update to let you know that Caden now weighs 1.69kg, a whole 85 grams more in two days! Sister Nel said usually they move the babies to open cribs at 1.7kg, that means he'll have to maintain his own temperature. I'm not sure when Caden will move, but it will probably be over the weekend. His oxygen is on 28% now, but it went down to 23% when we were there yesterday, so he's trying! Seeing as he'll probably be working harder now with less oxygen and trying to maintain his temperature, he probably won't be picking up so quickly, but that's okay, we'll wait patiently for our beautiful boy to grow stronger day by day! I must say the excitement is definitely getting to us. The days seem longer now that the time for him to come home is getting closer. Almost there baby boy, just grow, grow, grow.

You sure are getting a little fattie but we definitely are not complaining. As soon as you are a bit stronger and bigger, auntie Nettie and I will take you to breakfast as I just won the bet regarding your weight for the day. Carry on the way you are and soon you will be home in your lovely room.

Well done little warrior. Our prayers are being answered daily. Yes, I owe granny breakfast as I was over eager in betting on your weightgain. You are growing so fast and oh my what a handsome little fella you are. Your mom will have to really keep the girls away....I really cannot wait to kiss those little cheeks that are starting to look like a little squirrel's with some nutties stashed in them. You may weigh only (?) 1.69 Kg, but let me tell you something, precious child ... YOU'RE ALL HEART!
It's almost redundant to tell you how special you are, but let me say it anyway, "You have brought more people closer to reality in the +/-5 weeks you've been with us than anybody else I know! It makes me think of the Scripture in Isaiah that says, "...a little child shall lead them." Indeed! Caden ole buddy, you have been born with a clean, pure, mind - everything that happens to you from now on will be indelibly etched on your mind for as long as you live. Therefore, choose wisely little one. Don't clog your mind with negatives, hatred, ugliness or filth. Stay as pure as you are. We will strive to be like YOU and not try to make you like US! Love you.
