Granny, Aunty Nettie and a whole weekend of fun!

Hi everyone!

Well we just had a wonderful weekend with Granny coming up from Cape Town and Aunty Nettie coming from Durban to meet mr Caden for the first time, and wow did we get spoiled! They arrived late Thursday night so we just had a cup of coffee, Caden was sleeping and then we all went to bed. Friday morning Caden woke up and straight went into gran's arms, then to aunty Nets, then to gran, then to aunty Nets and so it went. He was enjoying the new company so much and played and laughed the whole day. I went for an interview, which went very well and in the evening we had a small braai. Saturday we went to the mall to buy our little warroir a whole new wardrobe of 0 - 3 month clothes! He was in his Springbok suit that Auntie Nets bought for him and got a lot of oohs and aahs! Thanx gran and aunty Nettie for all the great stuff you gotfor Caden, aunty Nettie also bought him a very cute walking ring which I just know he'll love! In the afternoon we had another relaxing braai and Sunday it was time for aunty Nettie to go home. Thank you for everything you did for us this weekend, we appreciate it so very much! Granny decided to stay until this morning so that she could spend some more time with baby. He started teething now so we had a few hiccups with him not wanting to eat. His hands are permanently in his mouth and so is anything else he can find! Tuesday we went to go see Lord of the Dance with Wes's work. Oh my goodness, what a stunning show! A must see for anyone who is into that kind of thing! It was a sad goodbye for gran this morning, but luckily it's only 2 months and then you'll see us again! Thank you as well for all the amazing things you did for us, from baby-sitting, to the video camera, to buying so many sweets! We appreciate it more than you know and can only hope to repay you one day!
I'm down with upper respiratory infection, so anti-biotics, cortisone and a lot of rest for me! I just hope I don't give it to Caden because then it would have been his ears, teething and this, my poor boy! Caden is doing very well now, he's rolling around, grabbing things, becoming a real little person, too cute for words! We're very proud of you my boy and pray that you continue to grow as beautifully as you have so far. Thank you for fighting, thank you for growing, thank you for being the light of our lives. We love you more than words can describe and it just grows stronger day by day, just like you.

Well, I hope everybody has great weekend!

Happy 6 months!

Happy 6 month birthday my beautiful beautiful boy! I can't believe you've grown into such a stunning little man and soon you'll be running around causing chaos! You have brought us so much joy and have taught us so many things already in your short time here on earth. We will always remember to learn from you and we love you more than you can possibly know!

Caden had his prevenar injection yesterday and he was so brave! Just two cries and he was done. It broke my heart, strange how it gets more difficult as he gets older? When they weighed him it was a whopping...5.04kg! I can't believe he's five times his birth weight! He also reached another milestone on Monday, he rolled over! It was so cute, he was lying on his bed while I was getting the bath water ready and one two three, there he went, trying to reach one of his fluffy doggy toys. He got the doggy by the paw and continued to talk to him. I wish I had a camera!

Please pray for the Dixon family. Chris lost his father on Monday and the service will be tomorrow. We will be sending all our positive thoughts your way so that God may help you through this time.

Tomorrow Granny and Auntie Nettie arrives from CPT and Durban, so Caden's gonna have an action packed weekend, just playing playing playing.

Have a great week!

Caden, Kai & Keaton
Hi Everybody,

Well, what a blue Monday it is here in Gauteng. The weather completely turned from warm and sunny to dark and murky in one day! Friday night Wes and I went out for dinner while Ouma looked after our little warrior. He was sleeping when we picked him up (probably exhausted from playing so much). Thanx for watching him Ouma! He's been going through a growth spurt the past couple of days, waking up every 3 hours to eat, which I am definitely not use to anymore, but not complaining, as long as our little warrior just grows grows grows!!!

Then on Saturday we went to Loren and Darryl's for a braai and the 3 little men (Caden, Keaton and Malakai) were together for the first time! It was so nice seeing my friends "playing mom" and seeing what wonderful, caring women they've become. Motherhood really changes you, your outlook on life and what you believe of yourself. Then on Sunday Ohpaw came to visit and Caden gave him so many smiles and told him so many stories (gossiping about your parents again hey my boy). Just don't let out all the family secrets my angel! It was really nice to see! And in the evening Caden grabbed his first toy. He was very uncoordinated, but he managed to grab the bunny rattle by the feet and I could see he was aiming for his mouth...hmmm...bunny stew! I was so incredibly proud, another milestone down! I'm getting all his 0-3 month clothes out now because he's steadily outgrowing his newborn stuff. Now we can start dressing him like a real little boy!

Anyway, I hope you all have a great week and don't work too hard!

Congratulations Loren and Darryl on the birth of your beautiful baby boy. Malakai was born 08/08/08 weighing 2.8 kg and I just know him and Caden's gonna be great friends (it's in their numerology, ha-ha). Hope this precious gift brings you endless joy and happiness!

Our weekend started off with Darryl coming to our house on Friday night to have a celebratory drink and cigar (as custom). Then on Saturday we helped ouma Rina move to Bronkhorstspruit and in the evening I went to my highschool reunion. It was so nice seeing everyone again! Today I'm going to go visit Loren in the hospital and the rest we'll probably just do our Sunday usual - nothing.
Here's some more pics for you all to enjoy!
Have a great week!

The Diagnosis

Hi All,

Well, we went to dr Vermaak and it came out that Caden has fluid on both his middle ears. Shame, I know how painful that can be as I've had 8 operations in my ears because of that problem. My boy, I am so proud of you for being so strong. He didn't even cry so much that I definitely knew something was wrong, he just whined a bit and we thought, hmmm, maybe? He's just such a strong little boy. So now he's on cortisone (which tastes awefull!) and Zyrtec which will hopefully clear it up. He's already smiling again and getting back to his old happy self!
Oh, my friend Loren went into labour this morning. Just want to wish her and Darryl the best of luck for today. I can't wait to meet little Malakai, and you guys are gonna make fantastic parents!
Anyway, hope everybody has a fantastic day and weekend and we'll chat soon!

Welcome Arin Jade Rossouw!

Hi All,

Firstly I just want to congratulate Mornè and Nicky on the birth of their baby girl, Arin, on Saturday. May she bring you endless joy, love and inspiration! She's absolutely beautiful!

Well, on Saturday we woke up and had a great breakfast, prepared by yours truly! Then Andries and Chris came over to wish Wes a Happy Birthday, then came ouma Rina and tannie Elriza, and then Gerrie and Yolandi came to visit. Caden was in such a good mood, giving his dad lots of smiles for his birthday! Then we dropped little one at ouma and went to meet the boys at the Dros. We had such a good night, thanx guys! Sunday morning we went for lunch at the Mashy course. Wes wanted to play some golf, but the queue was so long that we ended up just having some burgers with Yolandi and Gerrie. Caden was not himself at all. He kept crying and he's been nigly ever since! On Monday he started spitting out his bottle and not wanting to drink his full portions, so today I'm taking him to dr. Vermaak to have him checked out. I'm hoping he'll say it's just his teeth! My friend Loren came to visit me yesterday, she's 38 weeks pregnant and almost ready to pop! We can't wait for this little guy and we're even taking bets on when she'll deliver. My money's on Thursday night, but we'll have to see!

Anyway, hope everybody has a great week and don't work to hard!

Enjoying "school"!

Hi All,

Well, last week started of with me having food poisening/ a stomach bug or something. I woke up on Sunday night being so ill that Wes had to feed Caden and look after him for the rest of the day. I went to the doctor and luckily got a drip which made me feel a whole lot better! Finally on Wednesday I went back to work, which was okay I guess. I'm definitely not use to sitting in one place in front of a desk anymore! Luckily time flew and I could go and get Caden. He really seems to enjoy staying with tannie Annetjie, he's always so peaceful when I go to get him. Yesterday his friend Anè was also there by them and the two of them slept the whole morning! When we got home I put him in his bumbo chair (compliments of ouma Rina) and had his mobile in front of him. He's starting to grab at things now, it's so cute. Hopefully he'll start holding on to them soon! Saturday night we went to Kevin and Darryl's 30th birthday party which was a 70's theme. We had so much fun and everybody really made an effort in dressing up! Will post some pics soon. Caden stayed at home with ouma Rina and was wide awake, chatting away when we got home. Thanx ouma for looking after him so well!
We had so many birthdays this month! Congratualtions to aunt Nettie for Sunday, hope you had a great day and got spoilt rotten! And happy birthday to aunt Lettie for today and to ouma grootjie for Thursday. May God bless this year for you and all the years to come! Well, I'm trying to find out what Wesley wants for his birthday which is coming up soon as well, but he just won't budge! Does anybody have any ideas???

Anyway, hope everyone's well and healthy and looking forward to summer!
Oh, just also have to say that Caden is in number 2 nappies now! We're so proud!

Have a great week!
