Off the ventilator!

Hi All,

Today was a very proud day for us. Little Caden is off the ventilator and coping very well. The nurses are very impressed, and so are we! They had him lying on his tummy so that he can push all the Carbondioxide out, and he seems to be doing just that! Tomorrow marks his 1 week birthday, and he should be out of the woods with the danger of bleeding. We are so extremely proud of this beautiful boy who hasn't given us a single thing to worry about since his birth. He has just been fighting all the way! I am very excited because tomorrow I get to spend the entire morning with him! Hopefully I'll run into Dr. Vermaak as well just to find out what his thoughts are on our warrior's progress. Thanks for all the beautiful messages just pouring in from all over the globe. THE PRAYERS ARE WORKING!!!! At this stage I would also just like to congratulate Mark, Samm and little Deqlan, another little soldier. Deqlan's tests came back negative, testing for Neuroblastoma. Well done on fighting this disease Deqs, I can't wait for Caden to meet you. You both are extraordinary little boys and you are making your parents very very proud! Hope the week goes smoothly for everyone.

Love
Wes & Elriza

sDearest Caden,
What a little fighter you are. You definitely are one of the brave little soldiers in God's army. We praise the Lord for your healing and the strength He has given you and your wonderful parents. As grandparents we would like to thank all the people, those known and unknown to us, for all their prayers, love, kindness and friendship during this time. We know that the Lord will continue to keep you in His loving care. To Wes and Reezie, thank you for all your love, your updates on Caden's progress and your commitment to parenthood. You are doing a stunning job.
To Samm, Mark and Deqlan,
Another little fighter in our midst. You have become like part of our family and we thank God for Deqlan's wonderful results and will continue to pray for the three of you. I am sure that these two little soldiers will became great friends.
God Bless and love you all

Dear Wes, Elriza and Caden, what a great way to start our day with such wonderful news! Im so happy that your little champ is doing so well off the ventilator. God rewards his faithful Elriza and Wes! He is always holding Caden in the palm of his hands and is using the doctors and nurses as his earthly instruments to get Caden home asap! Oh - Happy 1 week Birthday big boy - get strong and big so that you can come home and play with your friend Keaton who is looking very forward to meeting you!
Look after each other and always know we are only a phone call away!
Lots of Hugs and Kisses for your little man!
Megs, Conrad and Keaton

Dearest Caden,

Here is an excerpt from the newsletter of Centurion Church of Christ, dated 24 February 2008 - "...Please pray for Elriza and Wesley Paul (mom & dad), and Caden Matthew Paul (son) - Elriza gave birth to her son this week, please pray that God will keep him safe while fighting for his life in the incubator. He was born 11 weeks prematurely. All is going well under the circumstances..."
Little One, your arrival has created a beautiful bond between SO many people from SO many different walks of life!!!
P.S. You're looking better by the day! Thanks to my wonderful son-in-law (your dad) for being such a blessing in my life. Your mom? Well, that's altogether a different story - she's my daughter, isn't she?

Love you tons and tons
